Larcine G and Lisa M - Al Anon and AA give a workshop on Relationships

In January 2024 I flew to Puerto Vallarta Mexico to speak at a conference called #SobrietyUndertheSun
It was my first international speaker invite. It was a mixture of terror, gratitude and excitement to carry the message of alcoholics anonymous to that many people. 
I was also asked to do a workshop. I chose to ask a more seasoned veteran, Larcine G from Al Anon, if she would like to collaborate on one with me.
 
I sent her my notes and ideas on the workshop, she called me and asked gently "Is this a 1 day or 1 hour workshop?". Right. Point taken.
Notes went in the garbage, we talked for about 30 mins and decided to do a workshop on the traditions and how they can benefit us in our relationships at home as well as at AA meetings. (Clearly she has never been to an AA business meeting!)
 
We didn't talk again til the day of the workshop, nor did we know what the other person was going to say.
Somehow, let's call it what it is, The Grace of God, we managed to give a cohesive talk and keep it to the one hour time frame we had been given.
 
It wasn't supposed to be recorded but someone in the audience thought it should be and later sent me this mp3.

This next speaker you will probably already know if you ever listened to my last show 2 sober chicks, she is one of my sponsees and she has always said I can share freely of our experiences together. Which I am truly grateful for, because we have had some learning! lol

I believe that Your sobriety, not how dry you are, but your emotional stability, is only as good as your most recent contact with your Higher Power. Daily Conscious Contact is vital to my personal growth and remaining right sized in the world. If I do that, I can handle whatever life throws at me.
 
My old sponsor always used to say "It's easy to trust God and say you have faith, when God's plan is aligning with yours. What does your trust look like when everything appears to be falling to shit around you? How's your FAITH then?"
This is what I try to pass on to those that I carry the message of recovery to.  
I've had the honor and privilege of carry the message to this particular newcomer and I'm so grateful for all we learn together.  When Christmas 2023 rolled around, just 3 months after she celebrated one year of sobriety, life got real rough for her...and we all prayed and held our breath hoping she'd be able to lean into that Faith she was just beginning to understand.
 
It's hard enough in early sobriety to just get sober. Then there is trying to live amongst the world and all it's other members. Throw on top of that financial insecurity, relationship insecurity, a death of a loved one, loss of a job, a major life threatening health crisis, and loss of your only home??!! Sometimes life doesn't get real - it gets SURREAL. 
 
But with faith, trust, a program of action and a community behind her this lady has gone from one of the darkest times to being a shining beacon of hope and transformation for others.
 
We are so proud to call her a home group member and friend in A.A. Solution Seekers home group.

Curtis from AA 1.0 in Florida

The first time I heard Curtis share in a big book study group, I knew he was my cup of tea. FACTS, he shared, must replace fiction. The big book deals in FACTS. He then counted how many times the word Fact was mentioned on a particular page.
May I always be as eager to learn in AA as I was in kindergarten.

Tricia G from AA Solution Seekers in NY

What can I say about Tricia G.....so much, I have heard her 5th step after all!!! I JOKE! That shit's locked away in a vault. 
 
Tricia walks the steps of action in this program every day. I admire her. It's not easy to get and stay sober but some folks have an easy softer way, lots of support, money, no drama. Tricia's beginning had none of that. She is a survivor.
 
Here are three things I will say about Tricia; She loves her husband and her kiddo, She is a force, and we love her.
